July Meeting Program

The Great Allegheny Passage by Bicycle

Take a few guys, their bikes and one car. Start in Pennsylvania – end in Washington DC a week later. Find out what happened in between: what they saw, how they decided where to stay, how much weight they lost, when Abe Glazer – DGBC Ride Committee Chairman – tells the ‘class’ what he did on his summer vacation. Come to the July meeting at Lincoln Center. Abe will share his stories and photos of the Great Allegheny Passage on Tuesday July 9th at 7:30 PM.

Bike Quote
“To be a cyclist is to be a student of pain....at cycling's core lies pain, hard and bitter as the pit inside a juicy peach. It doesn't matter if you're sprinting for an Olympic medal, a town sign, a trailhead, or the rest stop with the homemade brownies. If you never confront pain, you're missing the essence of the sport. Without pain, there's no adversity. Without adversity, no challenge. Without challenge, no improvement. No improvement, no sense of accomplishment and no deep-down joy. Might as well be playing Tiddly-Winks.”
-Scott Martin
